What is a Community Church?
Salem Community Church is an evangelical, non-denominational fellowship
of believers. We are committed to the belief that Jesus Christ is
our Savior and LORD, and that the Bible is His Word to us.
We are non-denominational in that we are not controlled by a larger
ecclesiastical or denominational body.
We are a church that is directed by the teachings of Scripture as
opposed to denominational policy. We remain committed to the essential
tenets of biblical Christianity, and reject the liberal teachings
of many churches and denominations of today.
Our ministry is based upon the belief that Jesus Christ is the Son
of God, who died on the cross to give us eternal life and the forgiveness
of sins. We believe that he is our Savior, and desire to live for
Him as the LORD of our life.
Our ministry is also based upon the belief that the BIBLE is the
Word of God. Therefore, we believe that it is God's Word for us
today, and it has the answers of man and society.
We want these truths about Jesus Christ and his Word to enable us
to make an impact in our community so that ultimately others will
be attracted to the Savior and bring him glory.
What Do We Believe?
- The One True God, is the creator of all things, eternally existing
in three persons in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and these
three are one God.

- Jesus Christ is God's only Son, who is fully God and fully man.
We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miraculous works,
atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, priestly
ministry, and personal return.

- The Holy Spirit has come into the world to reveal and glorify
Christ, to convict men and women of their sins, and to impart
new life to all who place their faith in Christ. He indwells believers
from the moment of spiritual birth, seals them until the day of
redemption, and empowers them to live a life pleasing to God.

- The Bible as the Scriptures containing the Old and New Testaments,
being verbally inspired by God and inerrant and infallible in
the original writings, and that they are supreme and final authority.

- Man was created in the image and likeness of God, but in Adam,
all mankind fell into sin with the result that all men are born
with a sinful nature separating them from God.

- Salvation is by grace through faith alone based on the death
and resurrection of Jesus Christ, who died for our sins according
to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice,
and that all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of
His shed blood.

- The Church is the Body and holy Bride of Christ. It is a living
spiritual body made up of all such persons who through saving
faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit.

- The Scriptural Ordinances of the church, given by our LORD,
are Baptism and the LORD'S Supper (communion).

- The "Blessed Hope" , which is the personal, visible,
and imminent return of our LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ.

- We believe that the foregoing are Bible doctrines; therefore,
we stand firm upon this Confession of Faith.
